About Me

Hi, I'm Nicola Butcher.

I'm a Senior Accredited Therapist who has been running Essex Autism Counselling for 19 years.  My aim is to help people move forward with their lives.  Whether to learn to understand their diagnosis, or learn to navigate the world and people around them to move forward with their lives.

I have a neurodivergent family and have spent many years navigating the education and support system to ensure my children had support in school and, now as young adults. 

In addition to my private practice, I am a Senior Accredited Therapist & ASC Assessor at the Priory Hospital.

I have both personal and professional experience of fighting for diagnosis and assessment, EHCPs, coming to terms with diagnosis and understanding sensory overload.   It is because of my personal and professional experiences that I am extremely passionate about what I do and I will always give my utmost into helping you.
